Overview

Going to court can be a frightening experience for front line practitioners. This practical course gives delegates the opportunity to build upon their knowledge and skills in preparing and giving evidence within legal proceedings in a safe and supportive learning environment.

Course Description

The course is suitable for all front line practitioners who may be called to court to give evidence as part of their work role. Participants are provided with case study materials and asked to prepare a piece of written evidence with a colleague. Oral evidence is then given on the case in a mock hearing on Day 2.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training, participants will have been given the opportunity to:
1. Gain an understanding of the court systems in child care cases.
2. Gain an understanding of what is required in preparing for court proceedings.
3. Gain an understanding of how to prepare a statement/chronology as part of the local authority evidence.
4. Gain practical insight-giving evidence in court
